Raku Labyrinth

$280.00

Originating from Japan, Raku is the dramatic process of taking hot ceramics out of a kiln and placing them directly into a container holding combustibles which create a flammable atmosphere. Results can be unexpected and unpredictable with this ancient technique.

This specific piece was glazed with a copper carbonate glaze and finished with an alcohol wash once pulled from the hot kiln. This glaze and alcohol combination creates an iridescent finish and continues to patina over time. The interior and exterior have a matte finish, I do not recommend liquids in this object.

Measures loosely 4.25 × 9.5 × 9.5 inches
