Landscape Series - Playa Ruinas
Last December we went to Mexico on a family trip. It was a tad touristy and we didn’t really know what we were getting ourselves into, but we found some beach ruins that we were able to walk around and learn about. It was hot as hell and full sun and by the time we had gone through the tour, we were ready for a dip. We quickly changed into our suits and booked it toward the water. It’s incredible how warm the ocean is there, and the crispness of the color is captivating. I can never figure it out, but something about being in the water is so hilarious and invigorating to me.
About the Limited Series
A collection of postcards from my own travel roll, this series is deeply personal. These blurred snapshots are from my life and travels and span over the last 10 or so years of exploration. With this graphic treatment, they become more about blended colors and textured blurs and become these soft ephemeral scenes.
Nature continues to be a North Star in my practice and I’m so happy to share these exploratory views.
