Landscape Series - Oregon Coast
June of last year we took a road trip up to Portland, it was my first trip back since moving away in 2021. It was a work/play trip and when I look back on it, it’s a bit emotional as it was the last time we got to see our dear friend who passed shortly after. We made the decision to stay down in the lower edge of Oregon on the coast to make our way back down south. We spent this day thrifting and bopping around small coast towns and I’m sure a bloody mary was involved at some point. We came to this beach and it was calm coming down the trail, Thomas turned around at me and I quickly caught this film snap of him holding this flower. As soon as we hit the beach it was completely different weather, stormy but clear, windy as hell and almost unbearable. Chips the dog ran wild and we were laughing at her wild little spirt. Sometimes I do miss being close to such a dramatic costal energy.
About the Series:
A collection of postcards from my own travel roll, this series is deeply personal. These blurred snapshots are from my life and travels and span over the last 10 or so years of exploration. With this graphic treatment, they become more about blended colors and textured blurs and become these soft ephemeral scenes.
Nature continues to be a North Star in my practice and I’m so happy to share these exploratory views.
Please note this particular mug is slightly discounted due to a very small crack at the handle joint.
